Suriname latest S. American state to recognize 'Palestine'

Suriname on Tuesday joined a list of South American countries to recognize a Palestinian state with 1967 borders, Ma'an news agency reported quoting PA Foreign Affairs Minister Riad al-Malki.
According to the report, Surinamese President Desi Bouterse sent a letter to PA President Mahmoud Abbas and the UN secretary-general expressing Suriname's support for "Palestinian national rights" and the establishment of a state on 1967 borders.
Malki stated that Suriname's announcement was another accomplishment of Palestinian diplomacy, Ma'an reported.
