Syria and Turkey insist on int'l inquiry into flotilla

Syria and Turkey issued a joint statement Monday insisting on the need for an international inquiry of the May 31 Gaza-bound flotilla, which was boarded by Israeli commandos and resulted in the deaths of nine Turkish citizens.Syrian President Bashar Assad met with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, and declared the need for an investigation into the "crime committed by Israel against the Turkish flotilla."Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri also attended the meeting.
