US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces stop drone strike in oil field - report

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces said on Tuesday they had thwarted a drone attack on Al Omar oilfield in eastern Syria.

Initial reports showed no damage as a result of the attack on the US-protected oilfield in the Deir al-Zour area, close to where US troops are stationed, they said.

Rocket attacks have also been reported at the Ain Al-Asad air base in Iraq, which hosts US military forces.
