US strongly denounces attack on Arab youth in J'lem

The US State Department on Wednesday condemned "in the strongest possible terms" the beating of an Arab youth by Jewish teens in Jerusalem last week, referring to the attack as a "senseless act of hate and violence."In a statement released Wednesday night, the State Department wished beating victim Jamal Julani a speedy recovery, and said "discriminatory acts of violence undermine and discredit efforts toward peace and security between Israelis and Palestinians."The statement praised Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's "unequivocal condemnation of racism and violence and his call for a full police investigation," and stressed that "the perpetrators of this hateful crime must be held to account."
