Border police arrested a woman at the Cave of Patriarchs after they found a knife in her bag  during a routine security inspection at the entrance of the site on Wednesday evening.
The woman was brought in for questioning with security officials. The Border Police believe the incident is personal.
January was the last time a stabbing attack was attempted at the Cave of Patriarchs, however there were several others in the months leading up to that attempt.
During the incident that occurred in January, the attacker succeeded in stabbing a 22-year-old who was taken to a hospital in moderate condition immediately after the incident occurred. In December, two stabbing attacks were thwarted in that same location, and before that, the last attempted stabbing was in October.
While Border Police believe that the circumstances surrounding the incident that occurred on Wednesday evening is personal, the series of attacks that occurred earlier this year and the end of last year were attributed to the former Defense Minister Naftali Bennett's announcement of the funding of a new Jewish neighborhood in Hebron.
