WASHINGTON -- A Ted Cruz presidency would call into question US funding for the United Nations over its bias against Israel, according to the Republican candidate's father, Pastor Rafael Cruz.In a speech delivered in February, the pastor told Proclaiming Justice to The Nations, a pro-Israel Christian group, that Cruz is the "strongest supporter of Israel on Capitol Hill" and "will continue to support Israel unconditionally."The junior senator from Texas is in a battle with New York real estate tycoon Donald Trump for the GOP presidential nomination– a race likely headed toward a contested convention in July, in light of Cruz's recent victories.President Cruz “will not fund the United Nations," he continued in the speech, "until they stop supporting BDS and anti-Semitism.”In his presidential stump speech, Cruz reliably invokes his support for Israel and states he will reverse the tone of the US-Israel relationship that has stifled dialogue under the Obama administration. The “foundation of America and the American Constitution was the Torah," Cruz's father said. “Israel is the only country in the world with a title deed from the Almighty."
