As the Israeli military campaign continues in Gaza, demonstrations have been held throughout Israel for the release of the hostages taken by Hamas in Gaza. Two hundred and forty people, including babies, children, and the elderly, were taken hostage one month ago on October 7, when Hamas terrorists entered Israel and murdered 1,400 people.
An international movement
On Saturday evening, protests demanding the release of the hostages took place in Haifa, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Beersheba, Eilat, and other cities. On Sunday morning, 3,000 demonstrators formed a human chain around Parliament Square in London to increase awareness of their plight.
Even in far-off Colombia, which has experienced the effects of antisemitism, a group of Jewish and Israeli demonstrators gathered to demonstrate for the release of the captives and for the welfare of the soldiers of the IDF.
