Jeremy Corbyn, chairman of the British Labor Party who has been accused in the past of making antisemitic comments as well as failing to rein in antisemitic sentiment in his party, sang the Communist anthem with activists who shared antisemitic posts on social media about the "ugly Israeli species" in a recent event he attended. According to the Daily Mail, Corbyn was seen embracing the activists who have said that Israel is responsible for the existence of ISIS and who admitted to "hating" Israel and the "ugly Israeli species." Images that surfaced online showed Corbyn hugging the activists and standing among them while singing a chorus of the Red Flag.Corbyn reportedly also expressed his support of a Muslim group that openly states on its website that the Labor Party is "indebted to Jewish financiers with Zionist leanings."The report comes amid concerns that Corbyn is not qualified to handle claims of antisemitism in his party. The Labor leader recently appointed two allegedly anti-Israel MPs, Kate Osamor and Sarah Champion, to lead his party's efforts to repair relations with the Jewish community in the UK, a move that was met with outrage and adamant criticism.Ms. Champion is known to have accused Israel of "mass intimidation and collective punishment," while Ms.Osamor has campaigned for boycotts against the Jewish state. The role the two are expected to man was previously called "shadow minister for Jews" and is intended to help restore relations with the British Jewish community, that have deteriorated since Corbyn assumed his position in 2015.
