Growing up in a poor home in Nigeria, Sunday Olasanmi never expected to become a doctor.Yet it was his desire to help the people of his country that gave Sunday the drive to finish medical school, and ten years later that same desire has brought Sunday to Israel.Olasanmi is studying for a master of public health at Hebrew University, through the scholarship of the Pears Foundation.Every year, the Pears Foundation sponsors 16 African students to come and learn in Hebrew University’s public health and nutrition programs. The students then return to their home countries to implement the health strategies they learned in their studies.
