Israeli officials slam UNHRC's 'biased' flotilla report

Leshno Yaar says Israel will ask UN council to wait for Turkel report before announcing conclusions; Eiland: Israel must prepare a criminal defense.

Israel's ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Aharon Leshno Yaar, said on Tuesday that Israel is trying to delay the UN Human Rights Council's discussion on the Gaza flotilla incident.
Leshno Yaar has asked the council to wait for reports from the Turkel Commission and the staff appointed by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon to investigate the events.

The ambassador also said, in an interview with Israel Radio, that the council drew its conclusions about the flotilla before it began its investigation, and Israeli cooperation would not have influenced the results.
Also on Israel Radio, Maj.-Gen. (ret) Giora Eiland, who led the IDF's investigation of the flotilla incident, said that the UN Human Rights Council's report is biased, unbalanced, and does not even try to hide its flaws.
Eiland recommended that Israel prepare a legal-criminal defense that will properly explain what happened on the Mavi Marmara.
