At Likud meeting, Netanyahu attacks bid to deny Israel OECD entry.

The Palestinian Authority made an effort to prevent Israel's joining the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Prime Minister Binjamin Netanyahu said Monday at a Likud Party meeting."Israel strives for peace, we removed checkpoints in the West Bank, improved the [Palestinians'] quality of life, and are constantly working to help the development of the Palestinian economy, yet the Palestinians oppose economic improvements and takes step that in the end hurt themselves," said Netanyahu. RELATED:My Word: Rejection and AcceptanceThe prime minister also cited as counter-productive the PA encouraged boycott of Israeli products from Judea and Samaria as costing 2,000 Palestinians their livelihoods. Fatah Central Committee member Nabil Shaath's declared goal of forcing Israel out of the UN was also castigated by Netanyahu as a step backward and inappropriate at a time of proximity talks.
