Jordan's King Abdullah II told US Vice President Dick Cheney at a meeting in the United States on Monday that Washington must help restart stalled Palestinian-Israeli negotiations at the point where they broke off six years ago, a royal palace statement said.
Discussions focused on Mideast peacemaking, Iraq and Jordanian efforts to press ahead with political, social and economic reforms, the palace said.
Abdullah "stressed the importance of the America's role in reviving the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians," the statement said.
It said the monarch asserted the "need for consolidating efforts in the coming period to build on what was achieved through long years of negotiations and in accordance to the road map for peace."
