Zimbabwe court rejects demand for immediate release of election results

A Zimbabwean opposition lawyer says a court has rejected their demand for the immediate release of the long-delayed results of last month's presidential elections. Lawyer Andrew Makoni says the High Court issued a ruling Monday dismissing the opposition petition for the results. The electoral commission has said it is still verifying the votes. Longtime President Robert Mugabe reportedly lost the election. International pressure is mounting for publication of the results.
