Iran plans to load fuel into Bushehr nuclear reactor
Iranian official: Despite US, EU efforts to put sanctions on Teheran, power plant fuel will be loaded into core; celebrations expected to mark event.

Iran is set to move a step closer to the start-up of its first nuclear power plant on Tuesday as it is planning to load fuel into the core of the Bushehr reactor, a senior Teheran lawmaker said Monday.According to Iranian officials the Russian-built nuclear plant will start producing energy as early as 2011 after years of delays.RELATED:Ashton, Russia call on Iran to agree to nuclear talksArab World: Ahmadinejad’s recipe for success'Iranian power has swung from mullahs to Ahmadinejad'"Despite all efforts and policies of America and the European Union to put sanctions on Iran, the fuel of the Bushehr power plant will be loaded into its core tomorrow," Iranian MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi was quoted as saying by official media.Boroujerdi is the head of the Iranian parliament's national security and foreign policy committee.News agencies in Iran said that celebrations would be held to mark Tuesday's event.
