The intercity public transportation service, including busses and trains alike, will be available to the general public for free on election day, from the night before at 8 PM and until the last bus on election day.Anyone who enters public transportation on election day will be able to board without the Rav-Kav bus cards. Those boarding trains will get free train tickets. This option was made available by the Central Elections Committee so as to allow those abiding far from their registered city of citizenship would be able to comfortably come to their assigned ballot.Even those who need to get to Eilat and back will be provided with special tickets by the bus company Egged. This is the first time such an option has been made immediately available to the general public. In previous years, voters have had to come to one of the national mail offices to announce their being at a distance of over 20 kilometers from their ballot. They would then be provided with travel vouchers for the day.
