Iraqi and Jordanian security officials examined Tuesday ways to fight the spread of terrorism and sectarian strife in countries neighboring Iraq that host large communities of refugees fleeing the wartorn nation.
"Both Jordan and Iraq have only one choice which is to stand in the same trench to fight terrorism," said Mouwaffak al-Rubaie, Iraq's national security adviser, in remarks carried by the official Petra news agency after his meeting with Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul-Ilah al-Khatib.
Al-Rubaie arrived in Amman late Monday with a seven-member delegation that included the Iraqi chiefs of intelligence and military intelligence to discuss security issues with their Jordanian counterparts.
