(TNS)- Crowding at Ben Gurion Airport is resulting in more and more paid services designed to make visiting the airport on the way to and from Israel a more pleasant experience.A new valet parking service launched today by Laufer Aviation-GHI, called ValetPort, takes cars in which passengers arrive in the airport terminal to a parking service. The car is waiting for the passengers on their return to Israel. The service costs NIS 150, plus NIS 60 daily for parking. A family traveling overseas for seven days will pay NIS 570 (NIS 150 for the valet service and NIS 420 for parking). Passengers traveling to Ben Gurion Airport in their private cars can leave the car in parking lots around the airport.Thousands of parking places at Ben Gurion Airport are available for the service: some of them covered, others not. Long term parking at Ben Gurion Airport costs NIS 40 per day for a non-covered space and NIS 70 per day for a covered space.A shuttle arriving every 15 minutes lets passengers off at the terminal and collects them.A space in a parking lot near the terminal costs NIS 80 a day - twice as much (there are 2,000 spaces in this parking lot), which puts the cost of the parking space in the valet service being offered to Ben Gurion Airport passengers between the cost of the two types of parking offered there.———©2018 the Globes (Tel Aviv, Israel).
