Eytan Fox to host actress Dana Ivgy at NYU Tel Aviv
Dana Ivgy is one of Israel’s most celebrated actresses, having appeared in over 26 movies and TV shows.

NYU Tel Aviv, the Israel campus of New York University, will present an evening devoted to the work of acclaimed actress Dana Ivgy, hosted by director Eytan Fox, tonight at 6 p.m. at the Tel Aviv Conservatory of Music.Dana Ivgy is one of Israel’s most celebrated actresses. Last fall, she won two Ophir Awards, the awards of the Israel Academy for Film: for Supporting Actress for her performance as a disabled woman in Asaf Korman’s Next to Her, and for Best Actress for her role as a disgruntled soldier in Talya Lavie’s Zero Motivation.The young actress has appeared in over 26 movies and television shows, including Keren Yedaya’s Or, which won the Camera d’Or Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and for which she also won an Ophir Award for Best Actress; Broken Wings, which won the Grand Prix at the Tokyo International Film Festival; and Avi Nesher’s The Secrets. The daughter of Moshe Ivgy, one of Israel’s best-known actors, Ivgy also performs with an Israeli stage comedy troupe Tziporela.Eytan Fox is an internationally acclaimed director, best known for Yossi & Jagger (2002), a look at a love affair between two soldiers in a war zone; Yossi (2012), a portrait of one of the these soldiers 10 years later; and Walk on Water (2004), about a Mossad agent who gets to know the grandson of a notorious Nazi. He directed Ivgy in the 2013 musical comedy, Cupcakes.Fox, who also teaches film at NYU Tel Aviv, will discuss Ivgy’s film career and how she approaches her work.The evening is free, but registration is required.
