Israel will not stop attacking targets in the Gaza Strip until Hamas is completely destroyed, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told elite Yahalom Unit soldiers on Tuesday.
Speaking to the special Israeli forces at the Emanuel base in the South, Netanyahu assured the forces that "we are looking ahead to the next phase of the war, it is coming.
"We have only one goal in sight - to destroy Hamas," the prime minister said. "We will not stop until this target is met."
During his visit to the southern base, Netanyahu received a full briefing of the unit's operations since the day of the mass infiltration of Hamas terrorists and the subsequent massacre of Israeli civilians on October 7.
The Yahalom unit's commanders also presented the prime minister with the unit's elite operational capabilities in underground combat, as well as in handling explosive devices.
Netanyahu: We are striking the enemy with tremendous force
"We are striking the enemy with tremendous force," Netanyahu told the soldiers. "The enemy was dealt the hardest blow it has suffered to date in yesterday's [Monday] strikes on Gaza.
"We have killed dozens of terrorists, perhaps many more than that, we are examining the full scope of the damage we have dealt at this very moment," he added.
Netanyahu noted that Israeli forces are also "striking in other arenas in the North..also in the West Bank."
