Israel's leading gamers and YouTubers took part in the first ever live Gaming Tournament in the Air on an El Al flight from Tel Aviv to London on Wednesday.
Eyal Yossef, Shlomi Ben Atar, Ben Keysar (The Basement) and Guy Podolitch (GuyTV) played various games on advanced Nintendo game consoles, including Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, FIFA, Super Smash Bros and Brawlhalla.
Live coverage of the tournament was viewed by tens of thousands of viewers around the country on YouTube and gamer channels and on El Al's YouTube and Facebook pages. Six people who won El Al flight tickets in a preliminary competition joined the gamers in the airborne gaming tournament.

The YouTubers who didn't participate in the live broadcast games competed against one another as children on the plane cheered them on.
Other passengers on the flight viewed live coverage of the tournament on their cellular devices and some also played among themselves.
"EL AL is proud to be the first airline to present a gaming flight out of Israel and to enable the gaming tournament for leading gamers," said El Al Vice President of Commercial and Industry Affairs Michael Strassburger. "This is an innovative marketing step made possible by EL AL’s high speed internet experience and varied media content that we offer our customers.”
