The 9th Annual International Space Design Award Idea-Tops in Shenzhen, China and the 2019 Shenzhen Global Design Awards honored the Israeli architecture firm of Kimmel Eshkolot with three awards, one for the IDF memorial at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
Architect Etan Kimmel of the firm attended the ceremony on April 25 and served as keynote speaker during the award's gala opening.
"The Idea-Tops Award is a true honor and recognition of the vision and level of execution we put into each of our projects," Kimmel stated. "We are excited to unveil several new projects this year which we hope will continue to capture the attention and imagination of the world's greatest architecture lovers."
The Silver Award at the 2019 Shenzhen Global Design Awards went to the Memorial Hall of Israel's Fallen on Mount Herzl, Israel's main military cemetery.
Opened in 2018, the memorial hall won the prestigious International Award for Excellence from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and was named Project of the Year in Israel's AI - Architecture of Israel magazine.
The other Kimmel Eshkolot building to receive praise in China was the Steinhardt Museum of Natural History at Tel Aviv University.
The firm was founded in 1986 in Tel Aviv by Etan Kimmel and Michal Kimmel Eshkolot.
