Israeli killed in truck hit-and-run after rocks hit his car near Hebron
Palestinian driver whose vehicle struck the man turned himself into the Palestinian police, claiming that it was an accident and that he had not intended to hit the man.

An Israeli man was killed in a hit-and-run truck incident near a Palestinian village in the Hebron area, Magen David Adom said on Tuesday.The man was identified by authorities as Avraham Asher Hasnu, a 54-year-old resident of Kiryat Arba and Hebron.According to an initial check by security forces, Palestinians hurled rocks at Hasnu's car. He stopped the vehicle, got out, and was struck by the truck.According to Palestinian media reports, the Palestinian driver whose vehicle struck the man turned himself into the Palestinian police in nearby Daharia, in the South Hebron Hills, claiming that it was an accident and that he had not intended to hit the man.Paramedics administered emergency treatment to Hasnu, who suffered critical injuries near the village of Al-Fawar.Magen David Adom released a statement to the press saying that attempts to resuscitate Hasnu failed, and first aid personnel pronounced the man dead just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday."When we got to the area, we saw a car," said MDA paramedic Eyal Mor-Yosef. "Next to the car was a man in his 50s lying unconscious. He had no pulse and no breath.""There were injuries to critical bodily systems," the paramedic said. "Attempts to save his life were made before we were forced to pronounce him dead."Security forces were on the scene and were seeking to gain additional details on the incident.Earlier on Tuesday, a Palestinian terrorist stabbed and lightly wounded an IDF officer near the West Bank town of Bet Awwa, close to the Green Line and near the southern Israeli district of Lakhish.
Soldiers nearby shot and killed the attacker.Magen David Adom paramedics said the soldier sustained a very light injury in the attack.Yasser Okbi and Jpost.com staff contributed to this report.
