Storm knocks down trees and roads blocked because of flooding and mudslides.

A fierce winter storm flooded roads, spread debris and upturned cars across Israel Thursday night and Friday morning.The storm put police and emergency services on high alert. Four people have been injured by road accidents due to the storm.Flying debris tossed by the storm severed power lines and caused power shortages in Haifa, Natanya and Hadera Thursday evening. Israel Electric Corporation repair teams were dispatched across the country.Falling trees also created road hazards and smashed into a moving car in the streets of Beit She'an. Hermon mountain on the Israeli-Syrian border closed because of snow fall.The section of Highway 90 from Masada junction to the Ein Gedi junction was also closed because of flooding.Along the coast, the sea was stormy, with notably high waves.
The Kinneret Authority reported that despite the heavy rain, the Sea of Galilee water level only rose by half a centimeter. The river Jordan rose by 30 centimeters, and special construction work was undertaken to prevent flooding. Images show other rivers in the Galilee also rising.
