Jordanian gun smugglers thwarted, Fatah officials said to be clients

Israeli security forces thwarted Jordanian weapons smugglers intending to sell weapons to top-ranking Fatah officials in the West Bank, Channel 12 reported on Thursday.The weapons included 82 assault rifles and 80 guns, the clients are said to be top ranking Fatah officials who are arming supporters ahead of an expected civil-war which will likely take place over leadership when Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas dies.While the names of the officials are known to the reporters they were asked by Israel's security services not to make them public, the report said.
