The Daily Stormer, a neo-Nazi website, has a new slogan: "The World's #1 Yair Netanyahu Fansite."Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's son also features prominently on the site's latest banner. The site's name is in reference to Der Stürmer, the Nazi newspaper published by Julius Streicher. In the trolling fashion for which the alt-right is known, the banner features the 26-year-old as a "Thug Life" meme -- with added sunglasses and marijuana. The "Happy Merchant," a popular alt-right meme depicting an antisemitic caricature of a Jewish male figure with a large hooked nose rubbing his hands together, shares the banner space. The odd homage follows a controversy started on Saturday, when Yair Netanyahu posted a meme on his Facebook profile. The image was widely-criticized by Israeli politicians and Jewish groups for including what the Anti-Defamation League called "clear antisemitic elements." The same post garnered praise from conspiracy theorists and white supremacists, including former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke and Daily Stormer founder and editor Andrew Anglin. The meme seemingly accused Hungarian-Jewish billionaire George Soros of controlling the world and attacked multiple critics of Benjamin Netanyahu. The meme also featured a hooded Illuminati figure with a hooked nose rubbing his hands together in a similar fashion to the "Happy Merchant."Hours after Yair shared the meme, the Daily Stormer published a reaction article titled "Netanyahu’s Son Posts Awesome Meme Blaming the Jews for Bringing Down His Jew Father." In it, Anglin refers to the young Netanyahu as "a total bro" and wrote "Next he’s going to call for gassings."The prime minister has not commented on the incident. The post has since been removed from his son's Facebook profile.
