Do you always wake up with a smile on your face? Well now you will not have a choice but to do so thanks to the new Smile Clock app, an alarm clock that will not stop buzzing unless you smile at it.
Are you the kind of person who has trouble getting out of bed in the morning? Do you like to hit that snooze button again and again? Well a new app currently available only for Android mobile devices just might help you out.
The brainchild of Israeli Hanan Rofe Haim, the app was first released on October 15. The alarm will continue to ring unless you smile into your phone. When you do the app automatically takes a picture of you smiling and saves it. Users can then decide at a later time if they wish to share the photos with friends and family.
As the Smile Clock’s website says, “With Smile Clock, you can choose the first thing you want to hear and see when you wake up, just as long as it puts a smile on your face.”
It works by using facial recognition technology. If you do not smile wide enough then it will ask you, “why so serious?” A user will then need to smile a bit wider.
It has one acknowledged glitch, however, when it comes to beards. The app’s tech does not always properly detect a smile that is covered by one.
The real question is, why a smile? How about proving that you are already out of bed to get it to stop ringing? Also, people could just take selfies in bed in their pajamas smiling if they wanted such pictures.
Apparently it is better to get out of bed in the morning with a smile on your face instead of grouching until you get that first cup of coffee.
