Avner Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was lightly injured Tuesday in an accident during his IDF basic training at the Zikim military base in the South. He was transported to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon for treatment and released after undergoing a series of check-ups.Private Netanyahu delivered the notification on his injury to his parents, Benjamin and Sara, himself.Avner decided to follow in his father's footsteps and enlisted to a combat unit, rather than follow the example of his brother, who joined the IDF Spokesman's Unit despite receiving invites to other units.Avner enlisted earlier this month and was expected, following his basic training, to serve in one of the combat intelligence units. He previously placed third in the International Youth Bible Quiz.
