Organizers of a nature party in the Negev last year, at which a young woman collapsed and later died, waited some five hours before they sought professional medical help for her, a delay which police suspect caused her death.Tohar David, who was in her 20s, was found lying unconscious on the side of the road at Lehavim junction near a bus stop on August 5, 2017.Police received the report and rushed to the scene, alongside a medical team that treated and evacuated her to Soroka Medical Center, where she died several days later.Following the incident, police arrested three suspects in their thirties and their remand was repeatedly extended on suspicion of manslaughter. They were released in September 2017 under restrictive conditions. Police said Sunday they had completed their investigation and had transferred their findings to the State Attorney’s Office for review.The police investigation found the woman sustained a head injury and collapsed. David had also taken drugs, according to media reports.She was found by the party organizers, who put her in the back of a truck and after unsuccessfully trying to treat her themselves, started to drive her to receive medical treatment. However, they changed their minds and returned to the party. Five hours later, after her condition had deteriorated, they took her to a main road to get help.Police found that the delay in seeking help for the woman stemmed from the organizers’ fear that the medical authorities would report the party to the police, resulting in a potential shutdown of the party and a financial loss to the event organizers.It was nonetheless revealed that the nature party was held without a permit and that appropriate medical and security measures were not taken.
