Track160, a new Israeli start-up company, won the European SportsTech award, the world’s preeminent soccer sports technology competition.The victory cup was awarded to Dr. Miky Tamir, Track160’s cofounder, during the SpielMacher Conference in Hamburg earlier this month. The conference is a football business event centered on technology and innovation. Track160 is the developer of a fully automated football analytics service that uses cutting-edge, deep-learning technology. “Artificial intelligence and deep learning methods completely change the sports technology,” said Tamir. “We can now produce new services and products for the sports professionals and for the broadcast and gaming markets that have never been dreamed of just few years ago. Track160 is in the forefront of these technologies and we are more than proud to create the new markets paradigms and the new generation of football players.”Track160’s system tracks players as well as the ball and produces performance and tactical metrics. The system is fully automatic and is based on the players’ IDs, locations as well as the position of the ball. The system then prepares a comprehensive team/players analytics database, including injury and roles predictions.
