A massive brawl left at least two people injured after tensions boiled over ahead of a local election, police said Thursday.Dozens of residents from Kfar Manda, an Arab town nestled in the Lower Galilee near Nazareth, attacked one another overnight Thursday with stones and fireworks. Rioters also lit trash cans on fire and caused considerable damage to public and private property.Two people were injured in the melee and evacuated to a nearby hospital, with one in reportedly moderate condition while the other was in light condition.Police said they arrested at least 23 people in the aftermath of the scuffle.A preliminary investigation revealed that the incident occurred against the backdrop of local elections expected to take place next week."Israel police acted quickly and decisively to put an end to the riot," police said in a statement."Such events cast a shadow on the lives of the residents and their quality of life, and may cause serious harm to the community," the statement added.
