Following complaints, inspectors of the Ministry of Agriculture arrived at the Sharon neighborhood, and after a review realized the animals had to be evacuated from their current conditions.
The monkeys in particular were being held in small cells without anything in the cage to enrich their lives, such as games or exercise equipment - and, due to such treatment, the monkeys harmed and mutilated themselves out of boredom and frustration.
Following the initial criticism of the site by the Ministry, the gardeners were instructed to repair the faults in the fashion in which the monkeys were being kept.
After the perpetrators ignored the requests, the animal rescue services syndicate emancipated the animals from the site, after which they all underwent extensive health checks and afterwards were transferred to rehabilitation and treatment centers. The monkeys and baboons are heading to the adoptive family zoo in Be'er Sheva, the squirrels and nasuas to specialized treatment centers.
