Aviation crisis between Israel and Russia apparently averted

An aviation crisis between Israel and Russia was apparently averted Thursday, a few hours after Israel threatened to cancel all passenger flights to and from Russia starting midnight.
The Israel Aviation Authority made the decision in protest of Russia's refusal to approve flights by Cal Cargo Air Lines.
But Cal reported later that it had received the approval of the Russian Transportation Ministry to start flights to Russia in December, and Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz was expected to speak with his Russian counterpart later Thursday to settle the dispute.
It was thus expected that the aviation authority would cancel its plans to freeze flights.
