"If we do not achieve peace in this round of talks [with the Palestinian Authority], it will be the Palestinians' responsibility," Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Tuesday while attending a worldwide socialist party conference near Athens.
He added that "the Israeli public is prepared to make painful concessions in order to achieve peace."
Speaking of Iran's nuclear program, Barak said it "constitutes a challenge for the entire world, and I'm not interested in saying anything more."
