‘Galant Document’ held in safe until decision is made
Police keen to begin a series of forensic and computer examinations to check whether the document is a forgery or genuine.

The controversial “Galant Document” – which claims to show how the Arad Communications public relations office drew up a plan to damage the reputations of senior IDF officers in a bid to promote OC Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Yoav Galant’s candidacy for chief of staff – was deposited in a safe at the Petah Tikva District Court on Wednesday until the court could reach a decision on it.The document is at the center of a legal row between police, which obtained a court order allowing them to seize it, and Channel 2 News, which says handing it over would expose the source who made the paper available.RELATED:Court to rule on ‘Galant document’‘Smear campaign’ allegedly forgedOn Wednesday, Channel 2 appealed a Petah Tikva magistrate’s decision ordering the news company to hand over the document.Police are keen to begin a series of forensic and computer examinations that could reveal whether the document is a forgery or genuine.
