The State Attorney's office decided Sunday to end the investigation regarding Gilad Sharon (son of former prime minister Ariel Sharon), who was suspected of taking bribes.
The decision was based upon a lack of evidence regarding the transfer of NIS 1.3 million from "Hachsharat Hayeshuv" to the Sharon family's Negev ranch.
The money was transferred in May 1999 for the purpose of buying another company, though 42 months later, the company had not yet been bought.
The events that had developed were investigated in 2005 and concluded Sunday with the closing of the extortion case.
