High Court of Justice gives green light for Jerusalem gay parade

The High Court of Justice on Monday gave the green light to "Open House" to hold its annual Jerusalem gay parade as scheduled on Thursday. A panel of three justices headed by Ayala Procaccia and including Salim Joubran and Hanan Meltzer said it took into account that the organizers of the parade had promised that the parade and assembly would be "moderate and restrained." It also took into account that the entire event would last three hours between 4 and 7 p.m. and that it would be restricted to the downtown area including Agron St., King David St., and Liberty Bell Park, where the assembly will be held.
