By JPOST.COM STAFF
Egypt has convinced Israel to reconsider its position regarding the prisoner exchange deal with kidnappers of IDF Cpl. Gilad Schalit, Palestinian agency "Maan" reported Thursday.
According to the report, Israel agreed to release 100 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for transferring the captive soldier into Egyptian hands before freeing an additional 100 prisoners in exchange for his eventual release to Israel.
The agency also claims Israel agreed to release prisoners it considers "extremely dangerous," including imprisoned leaders of various organizations.
No official confirmation of the report has been issued.
