President Moshe Katsav on Thursday visited a Holocaust memorial dedicated to more than 70,000 Greek Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis, most of them were killed in this northern Greek city.
"Christians and Jews lived together in Thessaloniki and thrived for 500 years," said Katsav, the first Israeli president to pay an official visit to Greece, who is here on for three-day stay.
Katsav visited the memorial with Greek President Karolos Papoulias.
