Natan Zehavi fires smoke grenade at cancer protest
By ETGAR LEFKOVITS
An Israeli journalist was detained for questioning
Sunday after firing two flares and hurling a small
smoke grenade in the air at the end of a Jerusalem
demonstration by colon cancer patients, police said.
Natan Zahavi was taken into custody in the Knesset's Rose Garden, where the week-old protest was taking place.
The demonstrators are demanding that two cancer drugs be covered by the national health insurance.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the journalist to carry out the act.
