Two planes were diverted from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport Wednesday after poor visibility hindered attempts to land.
The planes, a Lufthansa 686 with 230 passengers on board, and an Air France jet were diverted to Cyprus' Lanarca and Pathos airports, respectively.
The conditions, caused by a massive dust storm spreading throughout the country, also resulted in several electricity wire faults in the central area.
