Tiberias Mayor questioned over alleged election bribe

Tiberias Mayor Zohar Oved was questioned by police on Tuesday for allegedly rigging a tender for running a Kinneret beach in exchange for electoral bribes four years ago.
The head of the company which won the Shikmim Beach tender is an associate of an underworld kingpin.
Police suspect that the company won the tender using threats and blackmail, as none of the 10 businessmen who had expressed interest in running the beach ever contended in the tender.
Oved has been interrogated in the past on suspicion of accepting electoral bribes and mismanaging city funds.
