Women's groups appeal High Court ruling allowing Ramon to remain in gov't

17 women's organizations on Sunday appealed the High Court's recent decision not to block Haim Ramon's appointment to Deputy Premier.
The women's groups claimed that the appointment of a convicted sex offender to such a high-ranking position is a disgrace to Israel's government. They asked that a panel of judges reconvene in order to conduct further discussion over the issue.
The groups attacked the court, stating that in its decision it was assisting an unconstitutional and unreasonable action which they claimed eroded and damaged women's security in the country.
