Frazier Glenn Cross, the man in police custody for allegedly shooting three people dead outside two Jewish community centers near Kansas City, is an avowed white supremacist who has not been shy about expressing his disdain for Jews and blacks.According to a profile of Cross conducted by the Southern Poverty Law Center, the man who formerly ran for a Senate seat in Missouri, once held the title of “grand dragon” of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.He was also sent to prison for operating an illegal paramilitary organization and using intimidation tactics against blacks, as well as illegal weapons possession.Cross, who did two tours of duty in Vietnam and was also a member of the elite Green Berets, said he was indoctrinated by racist newspapers which he read in his youth. His attempts to disseminate racist propaganda began in North Carolina, where he joined the National Socialist Party of America. After forming his chapter of the KKK, he said he wanted to model his organization on “how Hitler ran the Nazi Party.”After doing stints in prison on weapons charges and intimidating minorities, Cross launched unsuccessful bids to win public office.“Today, true statistics be told, we’re less than half,” he once said. “And we’re dropping fast, while the dark peoples multiply like rats all around us, and as more tens-of-millions of them invade our country from all over the world.”In 2010, he told radio host Howard Stern: “That’s a sad commentary for our politicians in Washington. They’re all a bunch of whores for Israel. They’re all corrupted to the core. And they are traitors to America.”
