An Algerian-born man was sentenced to seven years in prison for firebombing two Montreal Jewish institutions.
Omar Bulphred pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of arson and two of making threats in connection with the firebombing of a Jewish school in 2006 and a Jewish community center in 2007.
The court heard that 23-year-old Bulphred also wrote letters claiming the crimes were committed in the name of the Islamic Jihad militant group.
The co-accused in the case, Azim Ibragimov, pleaded guilty last year and was sentenced to four years in prison.
