“We have decided to create a revolution not only in the content of the study, but also in its form."

Tzurba Merabanan, the high institute for Halacha instruction, on Sunday aligned the ranks of the thousands following its curriculum for a five-year study cycle of pertinent daily Halacha issues.Calling itself the “younger, practical brother of the Daf Yomi,” the 1923 initiative to learn a daily quota of the Babylonian Talmud and undertaken by hundreds of thousands of Jews worldwide, Tzurba Merabanan was founded seven years ago by Rabbi Benzion Algazi to provide a steady framework for constant Halacha study, focusing on the more practical halachic topics in the Shulhan Aruch.Thousands of people, including military kashrut supervisors, have been learning from the Tzurba Merabanan booklets, but as of this week, the new Kesher Hahalacha program will be setting a tempo.“We have decided to create a revolution not only in the content of the study, but also in its form. Kesher Hahalacha will be studied with the same booklets, thus over five years covering the practical issues in the Shulchan Aruch, for all Jews and in a uniform rhythm, in all the Tzurba centers in Israel and the world,” Algazi said.
