Residents of Rehov Rambam in Herzliya are turning to the courts to demand the removal of Herzliya's central bus station from its current location, reports local.co.il. The residents are suing both the city and the Egged bus company, saying the station's noise, odors and pollution present an "intolerable" environmental and personal hazard.
According to the report, the residents are planning to hold demonstrations and even block roads, as well as taking court action, to make their case. Residents said the fumes and noises emitting from the buses are unbearable and fill their houses. They asked the city's Department of Environmental Quality to test noise and pollution levels in the area, but the city reportedly responded that Egged should take care of the issue. No date for a court hearing was reported.
