The city of Tel Aviv has decided to re-introduce the classics to the city's youngest residents, reports www.local.co.il. From now on, the municipality will present all newborns in the city with a gift of a special edition book of poems by the late national poet Chaim Nachman Bialik.
The book, which will not be sold in bookstores, contains illustrations by the late Austrian-Jewish artist Tom Seidmann-Freud - a niece of the founder of psychotherapy Sigmund Freud - whose daughter lives in Israel and presented the drawings to the city for use in the project.
