German broadcaster ARD on Monday expressed its deep concern for the safety of one of its cameramen seized by Hamas in a weekend crackdown on Fatah and still held in an undisclosed location.
Relatives of 42-year-old Gaza native Sawah Abu Seif said he was taken from his home by masked Hamas militiamen.
ARD bureau chief Richard Schneider said he told senior Hamas official Mahmoud Zahar on Monday that Abu Seif was not active in Fatah.
"He is working as a journalist only and nothing else," Schneider told The Associated Press. "We are very worried for our man."
