Palestinian police clashed with protesters at the funeral for a man killed during a protest against the Annapolis peace summit, firing weapons into the air and beating people with sticks to disperse the gathering.
A medical official on the scene said five people were moderately wounded from beatings. There were no gunshot injuries.
Some 5,000 people participated in the funeral procession for the 36-year-old man, who was shot in the chest Tuesday during a demonstration against the Mideast peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland.
