Six children were among 26 people killed when a speeding bus collided head-on with a truck in Syria, a government newspaper reported on Sunday.
The Al-Baath daily of the ruling Baath Party said the accident occurred Saturday on the Raqqa-Aleppo highway in northern Syria, when the passenger bus with the children, traveling at high speed, crashed into the incoming sugar-loaded truck.
Six other people were injured in the accident and taken to nearby hospitals, the paper said. There were no other details on the accident.
